Hello everybody,
For a writer the most exciting and scary day is the day your first book arrives. Well, yesterday I received my advance copy of The Nine Irony in UPS.
My fingers trembled as I ripped open the package from my publisher, afraid that maybe the title was spelled wrong or they put my dog’s pic in instead of mine. Who knows? Any author goes though this anxiety. I began reading, praying that I wouldn’t find mistakes that I’d missed. Yes there were a few, but probably ones I would only notice. So, the soup is finished, the roast is out of the oven and Nick Thomas is a reality. He is a modern day Travis MGee, to those who might remember.
I will be setting up accounts today at Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble.com and Ingram Books.com and it will also be available though my web site. I will also have it in E-Book format and am working on an MP-3 version as well. I think we all have to embrace the NOW with new technology.
I will keep you posted and PLEASE order my book!!!! Thank You and I am GRATEFUL for all your support and encouragement! Tom
Please check out my latest interview about “The Nine Irony”.

I would just like to thank my loyal fans and followers for their support last Saturday at the Sunset at Sunset Festival. Many friends showed up and purchased “The Nine Irony” and also to my delight some that have read the book came by to say they loved it and can’t wait for “The Devil’s Parody” to come out. I am hoping for December release if all goes well.
Thanks again for making the day a success for me.

Hello all,
I just wanted to give you an update on some exciting news. Through some fun research I have found the venue for my new novel that will end up here in Calabash, North Carolina. It is the true mystery suspense experience that you expect from Nick Thomas and his cast of characters. Nick and Chris get involved in a terribly deceptive plot of money, gambling and murder. Sebastian Black, the antagonist, lives in a secluded mansion and is conducting experiments in human nature. He preys upon the weak minds of the consummate gambler to see just how far one will go for the prize of one million dollars. Would you cut off your thumb for $10,000.00? Would you spin the cylinder of a pistol in a game of Russian Roulette for say $100,000.00? Would you hunt your fellows to the death for one million dollars? Does everyone have a price where they would cross the line from sanity? We’ll see.
Please keep tuned in as I will keep you all posted as I progress.
Happy reading,
Tom Rieber or should I say Nick Thomas?

The Nine Irony
The first in the
Nick Thomas Mystery Series
by Tom Rieber
Most people would call it bad luck; some would call it fate, while the adjusted few would simply call it life. It was about money-a lot of money, and Nick becomes the unknowing victim of the perfect frame. As fast as the wind changes he found himself clawing his way out of a carefully constructed web of murder, deceit and greed and wanted for questioning in two gruesome murders.
The Nine Irony captures the Cape Cod experience with all its spirit and color, and has created real characters that come alive on the pages and leaving you wanting more.

Hello all you thriller buffs. This is a refreshing look at human nature, living a sober life while fighting against some very sick people. In the weeks to follow Rieber will give you snippets of this book and a short introduction into the next book, “The Devil’s Parody” that centers around the disease of gambling and just how far someone would go for a lot of money. Would YOU cut off your little finger for $10,000.00? Would you spin the cylinder of a gun and play Russian Roulette for 1 million?
Nick Thomas is a little bit of all of us, just a little more centered and a whole lot resourceful. North Carolina Mystery writer, Tom Rieber, has captured a slice of reality while creating a suspenseful and fun read.

The day is finally just around the corner. It only took ten years of the typical writer’s procrastination and the kick in the a– from some great friends and fellow authors. The Nine Irony is the suspense thriller you’ve all been waiting for with real people facing seemingly insurmountable odds of survival in this deceptive web of murder, deceit, greed and, of course, a little spicy sex. Nick is a little bit of all of us created from within. He is a modern-day Travis McGee for those who remember the great John D. McDonald who is a saver of errant souls and broken hearts. Have fun and enjoy this great read.
I want to thank my dear friend and fellow author, Jacqueline DeGroot, for putting her foot in my behind and motivating me to make this move.
Please join me in the celebration, location TBA. The book will be available on Amazon.com, Ingram, Barnes & Noble and many others which I will post when I have the list complete.
Thank you for your loyalty and support,
Tom Rieber, Author and Creator

North Carolina Author, Tom Rieber is unveiling his new book, “The Nine Irony” which is Nick Thomas’ debut into the literary world. Nick is a bit of everybody. He is a tongue in cheek street philosopher, a sensitive and caring man and one who has been through the mill in many respects. Nick is a 40- something, struggling mystery writer that lives on Cape Cod, Mass. He is a divorced recovering alcoholic who wears blue jeans, drives a tempermental old MG convertible and listens to Bob Marley and the Rolling Stones. He is embracing his second chance at life and living his true passion of being a writer. But as always when things are going too good……the shit fairy pays a visit and Nick is perfectly framed for the murder of his ex-wife, Carla, whom he has publicly proclaimed extreme dislike for to say the least. This intricate plot of murder, sex, drugs and money takes you through a web of unexpected twists that does leave you satisfied–A great beach or snowstorm read.
The Nine Irony will be available late February for those true fans and podcast will follow soon.
HAPPY READING! Don’t miss the next thriller, The Devil’s Parody, due out eary fall 2009.
